Speed Queen makes the most sense to me if you repair your own machines, or you want something worth repairing long after you might have thrown another washer away.
You're paying a premium for that repairability and, especially with the TC5, the simpler approach to the machine. If your goal is to keep a washer going for 25 years, that means being willing to maintain it and replace parts along the way.
That is not a promise of 25 maintenance-free years. Things can still break. I see the value in being able to fix it and keep using it. Actual life depends on use, care, repair costs and parts availability.
The FF7 front-loader is my pick for the best Speed Queen washer. I prefer a front-load washer over a top-loader for long-term use. If you want a classic top-loader with straightforward controls, look at the TC5. The TR series uses a different wash system, so compare the specific model.
